Help us Go for the Gold in London!

The Row to London fundraising competition is going on now! In this last month before the Olympic Games begin, we are trying to raise $100,000 to help pay for transportation, housing, and equipment for the 52 Olympic and Paralympic athletes--as well as alternates, coaches, and support staff--who are London-bound!

Rowing is one of the few true amateur sports left in this country. I and the vast majority of my teammates are pursuing our dreams of an Olympic medal with the help of a small stipend, part-time jobs, and the generosity of our host families, as well as that of other friends and family members.

Rowing is a sport that receives a small amount of funding from the US Olympic Committee. The majority of the money required for travel, equipment, and competition fees for the World Championships and the Olympic Games comes from private donations.

Our national governing body, USRowing, is still in the hunt for sponsors as we build towards the 2012 London Olympic Games.
